The keyboard of the pi-top of far inferior quality than I expected. It misses about 1/4th of the keys that I press, and I constantly have to go back and correct keystrokes.
Some keys scrape the plastic cutouts of the lid as you press them, indicating that they did a poor job designing the tolerances for the case cutout pattern.
The only way to get the pi-top to remember my "US" keyboard settings was to
manually edit the /etc/default/keyboard file and change the "gb" to "us".
All other techniques revert to British Keyboard layout when you reboot.
